Energy-focused firm Morgan Lewis recently appointed former Dewey & LeBeouf China practice head Ingrid Zhu-Clark as its new co-managing partner of its Beijing office. Zhu-Clark’s hire is the latest for Morgan Lewis in a series of important recruits globally over the past few weeks.

Energy project specialist Zhu-Clark had advised a number of energy companies on cross border acquisitions and joint ventures in Africa, South America, North America, Central Asia, and Asia. Her previous experiences include many multicountry oil and gas projects, in addition to transactional and regulatory advice to insurance companies doing business in China.

Qualified in the U.S. and China, Zhu-Clark speaks English, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, German, and Russian. She will be a member of the firm’s Business and Finance practice team.

"Having emerged as the second-largest economy in the world, China is a vital market for most of our multinational clients,” said Lucas Chang, a senior partner in the firm’s Greater China practice, in a statement. “Adding Ingrid's tremendous experience and expertise in a sector with a profound impact on the way companies do business will be an ideal way to expand our capabilities in Beijing."

Speaking on the development, Morgan Lewis chairman, Francis M. Milone, said: "We are excited to continue our international expansion, particularly with respect to our energy capabilities.” ALB
