Mayer Brown JSM has hired partners Henry Wang and Billy Au to boost its corporate offering in Beijing.

Wang, who will become the firm’s head of investments, will be based out of Beijing. He joins from Dechert, where he was the managing partner of its Beijing office. Meanwhile, Au will be based out of Beijing and Hong Kong. He joins the firm from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe's Hong Kong where he was working as an of counsel.

Both are corporate specialists with ample experience in cross border M&As, as well as public and private offerings of equity and debt securities.

Commenting on the new arrivals, senior partner and Asia chair of Mayer Brown JSM, Elaine Lo, said in a statement: “We are committed to continue strengthening our China capabilities. We believe that the addition of Henry and Billy will enable us to better serve our clients in China, Hong Kong, and throughout our global network.”

Wang is fluent in English and Mandarin, while Au is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. “Mayer Brown JSM is a premium law firm, and it will provide me with a good platform in assisting clients as they explore business opportunities both in and outside of China. I greatly look forward to working with my team,” said Wang.
