DLA Piper’s Shanghai office has brought former King & Wood Mallesons Shanghai employment specialist Ying Wang on board as of counsel.

Wang brings over 10 years of  experience in PRC labour and employment to her new firm, where she will join its Greater China employment, pensions and benefits group. She counts numerous foreign and domestic companies as her clients, and advises them on labour disputes, social insurance regulatory matters, and day-to-day labour issues. She also develops human resources documents.

Qualified in the PRC, Wang has served as a part-time labour dispute arbitrator of the relevant Labour Dispute Arbitration Committee in Shanghai since 2004. She obtained her Labour Dispute Arbitrator Certificate from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and her Labour Law Consultant Certificate from the Shanghai Bureau of Labour and Social Security.

Commenting on her team’s newest addition, DLA Piper’s Asia-Pacific head of employment, Pattie Walsh, said in a statement: "The firm's employment practice in China has expanded significantly as the country's economy has remained strong. Competition to secure cross border employment and advice in relation to international law has intensified especially as the quality of offerings from local firms has improved. DLA Piper offers a high level of quality and skill, and we are pleased to have such a talented lawyer as Ying Wang join us to further strengthen DLA Piper's international offering."
