The Hong Kong office of Mayer Brown JSM has hired former Hogan Lovells corporate and securities partner James Fong.

Fong has practised in Hong Kong for over 12 years, working on a variety of corporate finance transactions including Hong Kong IPOs, exchange-traded funds listings, block trades, rights issues, takeovers, and private equity and joint venture matters. He is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Commenting on the move, Mayer Brown JSM’s Asia head of corporate and securities, Patrick Wong, said: “I would like to welcome James to the recently expanded corporate and securities practice. As part of the strategic plan, the addition of James Fong, Henry Wang and Billy Au in Greater China will see our practice having a much more in-depth capability in ECM and M&A offerings. I look forward to having the new talents on board."

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Fong worked as an associate at Johnson Stokes & Master (which combined with Mayer Brown in 2008 to become Mayer Brown JSM).
