Following its recent recruitment of two former K&L Gates lawyers in Singapore, Jones Day has plucked another partner – Maria Tan Pedersen – from its U.S. rival, in a move that will bolster the firm’s banking and finance practice.
Admitted in New York and a registered foreign lawyer in Hong Kong, Pedersen specialises in local and international transactions, financing, contracts and arbitration.
“Bringing Maria on board strengthens our growing practice in Hong Kong, and her breadth of experience will be of great value to us and our clients,” said Robert Graves, co-chair of Jones Day’s banking and finance practice, in a statement.
“Maria’s international experience will be a great asset to the firm and to our clients here both locally and regionally,” said Robert Thomson, partner-in-charge of the firm’s Hong Kong office.
