The Morrison & Foerster Hong Kong office has welcomed the arrival of corporate partner Jeremy Hunt, who joins the firm from Allen & Overy. His practice focuses on M&A and private equity transactions, working with private equity firms, and other investors and advisers.

Some of Hunt’s recent key involvements include representing the Carlyle Group on its investment in C.P. Pokphand Co Ltd, and its exit from China Pacific Insurance, in addition to advising Goldman Sachs Investment Partners in relation to its PIPE investment in Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment JSC.  Other recent clients include Temasek and Capital International.

Qualified in the UK and Hong Kong, Hunt’s legal career spans 24 years, during which he has worked on capital investments, pre-IPO financings and leveraged buyouts.

Commenting on his new firm, Hunt said in a statement: “It’s an exciting time to join the team in Hong Kong and more broadly in Asia. MoFo’s practice in the region is of the highest quality, and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the firm.”

“Jeremy joins our leading private equity partner Thomas Chou in Hong Kong to support the increasing volume, range, and sophistication of transactions being executed by our Asia-based private equity clients,” said Ven Tan, the managing partner of MoFo’s Hong Kong office. “His pan-Asia buyout experience, including his specialised expertise in Hong Kong PIPE investments, leveraged buyouts and public takeovers, will broaden and deepen what is already considered one of the top tier private equity practices in the Asia-Pacific region.”

Hunt’s addition bolsters MoFo’s Greater China practice, which includes the recent arrivals of corporate specialist Thomas Man in Beijing, Melody He-Chen and John Moore in Hong Kong, and the promotion of Gregory Wang to the partnership in Hong Kong.
