Linklaters has bolstered its China corporate practice with the hire of partner Pui Hong Chik from Baker & McKenzie, where he was a partner since 2007.
Based in Beijing, Chik focuses primarily on IPOs and secondary offerings, as well as compliance work for Hong Kong-listed state-owned enterprises.
“(Chik’s) experience in corporate finance, securities regulation, and general corporate work will be enormously valuable to us in fulfilling out plans to develop still further our capability to service the needs of our clients in Greater China,” said Stuart Salt, Linklaters’ Asia managing partner, in a statement.
Prior to the arrival of Chik, Linklaters boosted its Beijing corporate practice with the election of two new partners – Judie Ng Shortell and Annabella Fu – in May, hired competition expert Fay Zhou, and relocated senior corporate partner Peter Goes from Amsterdam.
