Allens has appointed Kate Axup to partnership in the firm’s Beijing office, effective Nov. 1.
Axup, currently a special counsel and chief representative of the firm’s Beijing office, specialises in energy and resources and regulatory work. Her recent work includes advising on the development of wind farms and power stations, power and commodity supply arrangements, Rio Tinto’s Oyu Tolgoi copper project in Mongolia, and outbound M&A and investments into Asia.
“As momentum builds in our joint ventures across Asia with Linklaters, we see Kate as playing a very important role in maximising the opportunities those joint ventures will present,” said Allens chairman, Ewen Crouch, in a statement.
Allens has beefed up its energy and resources practice both at home and in Asia. Partner Nic Tole relocated from Perth to Hong Kong in September, and Perth-based Tracey Greenaway was appointed as a partner in the firm’s oil and gas practice in July.
