Herbert Smith Freehills has bolstered its Greater China energy and natural resources practice with the relocation of partner David Clinch from London.

Clinch, who will be based in Hong Kong, specialises in acquisitions and disposals, project finance and development, and joint ventures within the mining, power, refining, chemical and oil and gas sectors. He has worked on projects and acquisitions in all parts of the world, and has been based in Herbert Smith Freehills’ Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, London and Bangkok offices during his 19 years with the firm.

The firm’s growing energy practice counts many leading energy companies as clients, including CNOOC, Sinopec, CNPC, State Grid and Shenhua.
