Howse Williams Bowers is making its presence felt in Hong Kong following the appointment of six new partners, of who two are lateral hires, and the rest are promotions. These new partners are Brian Ho, David Coogans, Katherine Chuang, Lynn Lee, Lisa Nabou, and Oonagh Toner.
Ho joins the firm from Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong, where he was director in the corporate advisory and finance group. He has advised on corporate finance and compliance transactions, as well as IPOs and corporate restructurings.
Previously the head of Holman Fenwick & Willan’s Sydney office, shipping expert Coogans offers over 25 years of experience in shipping and international trade law, with a specialty in collision and salvage work.
Chuang, Lee, Nabou and Toner joined HWB from Reed Smith Richards Butler in January this year, and will become partners of the firm from January 2013.
Chuang has worked at an international law firm as well as in-house, and specialises in corporate finance, M&A, direct investment, corporate restructurings and reorganisations.
Lee focuses on commercial litigation and dispute resolution, with a particular expertise in insurance, property, insolvency and shareholder disputes. She has also advised on debt recovery, trade finance, media law, commercial fraud, injunctions, defamation, and related litigation.
Nabou is a healthcare and disciplinary lawyer who has advised healthcare professionals, hospitals and health companies on medical and regulatory law issues such as negligence claims, disciplinary tribunals and inquests. She has also advised pharmaceutical companies on regulatory issues and clinical trials.
Toner, a dispute resolution expert, handles clinical negligence claims and advises healthcare professionals on a range of contractual, regulatory and criminal matters.
