Shearman & Sterling has promoted six lawyers to counsel in Asia, of who two are in Singapore, and the remainder in Hong Kong and China.

The Singapore-based lawyers elected to counsel are Trevor Ingram, a lawyer in the capital markets - Asia practice area, and Shirin Tang a lawyer in the M&A practice area.

In Beijing, M&A lawyer Fang Xue has been elected to counsel. Meanwhile in Hong Kong, litigator Brian G. Burke, M&A lawyer Yi Zhang, and capital markets lawyer Paloma Wang have been promoted.

“We are delighted with the promotions of the new counsel,” said Matthew Bersani, Shearman & Sterling’s Asia managing partner, in a statement. “They have distinguished themselves through their commitment to our clients and our firm. Their promotions reflect the continued growth of our Asian practice and our commitment to the Asia region.”

The firm has promoted 23 associates to counsel worldwide, across 11 offices and 12 practice areas.
