Clifford Chance has hired maritime finance expert Alastair MacAulay from Mayer Brown JSM as a partner at its Hong Kong office.

MacAulay specialises in asset and project finance, with a prowess in LNG transportation, and restructurings and offshore services in the maritime sector. He has advised banks and financial institutions on loan, leasing and credit transaction matters across Asia.

“Asian banks are becoming more active in the offshore energy sector, creating more demand for sophisticated asset finance transactions,” said Clifford Chance Asia-Pacific head of finance, Mark Hyde. “Alastair brings experience and a market-leading position in maritime and LNG project finance in Asia-Pacific and globally.”
