DLA Piper has hired Ed Sheremeta, the head of the Asia real estate group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, as a partner at the former’s Hong Kong office.

Sheremeta advises clients on real estate matters including investment, acquisitions and dispositions, REITs, asset and property management, leasing and restructurings.

“Asia is increasing in prominence in the global property markets as it continues to attract high levels of investor interest,” said DLA Piper’s international real estate head, Olaf Schmidt, in a statement. “Real estate is a key focus for DLA Piper and Ed's experience and skills will be a great asset to our existing offering in Asia.”
