Jones Day has strengthened its banking and finance team with the hire of Michelle Taylor as a partner at its Hong Kong office.

Taylor specialises in banking, structured finance, real estate finance and debt capital markets. She has also worked on some major securitisations in China, Japan and South Korea.

Taylor joined the firm from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe - where she was the Asia managing partner - along with one associate.

Earlier this year, Jones Day hired capital markets expert Gene Buttrill as a partner in Hong Kong, and Ross Keene and Yang Xu as of counsel in Shanghai.
