Former DLA Piper associate Jason Liu has been promoted to partner at Guangsheng & Partners, to head the firm’s PE and M&A practice group. The group currently consists of four partners and four associates.
Prior to his three years with DLA Piper, Liu practised at King & Wood, handling PE, venture capital, M&A and capital market related transactions.
“There will be more PE and M&A deals for year 2010, especially RMB fund investments and restructuring of prior offshore investments. China will still be the focus of investments from the global perspective,” he said.
G&P also recently hired Bruce Li as a partner focusing on PE and venture capital transactions. “We would expect to have Jason and other partners at our firm further promote [our] PE & M&A practice, as well as capital markets capabilities,” said Guangsheng’s managing partner Li Likai.
