Having worked on a particularly bumper crop of prominent M&A and equity market deals over the past 12 months, Freshfields has deservedly claimed three awards at the ALB China Law Awards. On the night, the firm won M&A Deal of the Year, Equity Market Deal of the Year and International Law Firm of the Year.

The firm seized its M&A and Equity Market Deal Awards for its role on China Minsheng Bank’s blockbuster US$3.2bn Hong Kong IPO and GCL Poly’s innovative takeover of Jiangsu Zhongneng, respectively

Freshfields also represented a long list of clients on the China Longyuan IPO, China Pacific Insurance IPO, Metallurgical Corporation of China IPO, Sands China IPO, Geely’s acquisition of Volvo and OCBC Bank’s acquisition of ING Asia Private Bank. In 2009, Freshfields advised on five of the world’s ten largest IPOs.
