Rouse China has hired Jacob Chen to head its Guangzhou IP litigation team in response to the growing number of IP litigation cases being heard in the metropolis.
Chen, an experienced lawyer and litigator in China, has advised clients on both contentious and non-contentious IP matters in China. He has represented international and domestic clients before Chinese government authorities, Chinese courts and the China Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre.
A member of the China Bar Association, the Editorial Committee of INTA China Bulletin and the INTA Anti-counterfeiting East Asia & Pacific Committee, he also serves as a panelist for the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre for Domain Name Dispute Resolution.
Prior to his appointment at Rouse, Chen was an attorney and partner at local Guangzhou intellectual property firm, Advance China IP Law Office. During his tenure there, Chen was selected to spend a year in the UK for a placement in English firm Walker Morris under the Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme for Chinese Lawyers.
Chen will head up a team of 10 lawyers at Rouse China’s Guangzhou office with immediate effect.ALB
