Beijing-headquartered JunZeJun Law Offices recently opened three offices in Chengdu, Nanjing and Tianjin in a bid to tap into the financial potential of China’s Bohai region, Yangzte Delta and its southwestern hinterland.
The openings will complement JunZeJun’s existing branches in Shanghai and Shenzhen.
Wang Qiang, who is in charge of the firm’s new Chengdu office, said JunZeJun will concentrate on delivering its strength in core practice areas in securities and corporate advisory. He said the firm is in the midst of expanding its team, but noted that strengthening its branding in the new markets is more important than hastily increasing headcount.
“JunZeJun opening three offices simultaneously is a strategic move—we do not recruit too many new partners locally,” Wang said. “Rather, we hope to use our established JunZeJun brand and high quality of services to gradually open the markets.”
Founded in Beijing in 1995, JunZeJun is one of China’s earliest and largest partnership firms. It currently has 40-plus partners and more than two hundred legal staff nationwide. With nine practice areas, the firm is known for its advisory work in international trade, investment banking, taxation, real estate and construction and intellectual property. ALB
