Having set its sights on Mongolia, U.S. boutique firm Harris & Moure has announced the opening of its newest office in Ulaanbaatar, to be headed by attorney Russell Murphy.

Murphy has handled Mongolian business and legal matters since 2006, and specialises in M&As, joint ventures, and intellectual property rights.

“Russell is an ideal leader for our Mongolia practice,” said Harris & Moure’s managing partner, Charles Moure, in a statement. “His deep roots in international business, combined with his familiarity with the Mongolian market, make him an extremely valuable resource for clients doing business in or with Mongolia.”

“Developing countries such as Mongolia are becoming major players in the global economy,” added Moure. “As one of the first U.S. law firms to enter Mongolia, we are excited to grow our practice in this fast-growing emerging market.”

The firm already has a presence in Beijing and Qingdao, and its lawyers regularly work with clients operating in Japan, Vietnam and South Korea. ALB
