Eversheds has opened a Beijing office with two newly hired resident partners.

Energy expert Ingrid Zhu-Clark will be the managing partner of the Beijing office. Prior to joining the firm, she worked with U.S. firm Morgan Lewis where she was a co-manager partner.  One of a number of new recruitments to Eversheds’ international oil and gas practice worldwide, Zhu-Clark will, among others, represent Chinese clients in outbound investment matters across multiple jurisdictions including Russia, Central Asia and Africa.

The other partner based in Beijing is Jay Ze, a corporate lawyer who focuses on cross-border M&As by state-owned enterprises, global companies and investments banks across the globe. His role in Eversheds is with the global M&A team as it develops both inbound and outbound opportunities in China.

"The Beijing office opening marks the next stage in our journey to create a truly global law firm servicing our clients in their key markets. We are particularly excited by the expertise and depth these hires bring to our international energy and natural resources offering," said Lee Ranson, managing partner of Eversheds, in a statement.
