Bingham McCutchen LLP has hired Fred Chang as an M&A partner at its Beijing office. Chang joins from FenXun Partners, a law firm he co-founded. Chang has extensive experience in advising on investments and M&A matters in China, as well as regulatory and compliance issues related to M&A.

Before founding FenXun, Chang was a partner at Lovells (now known as Hogan Lovells) and White & Case in Beijing. He also served as executive director and counsel for Goldman Sachs and general counsel and head of compliance for Asia at Deutsche Bank in Singapore.

“A large part of our growth strategy in Asia is adding market-leading practitioners that drive value for clients,” said Brian Beglin, co-managing partner of Bingham’s Beijing office, in a statement. “The addition of Fred aligns perfectly with this strategy. We are delighted to have him join and look forward to working with him to build on our strengths in Asia.”

With Chang’s joining, the firm's Beijing office now has three partners.
