Clyde & Co has recruited Patrick Zheng as a litigation and international arbitration partner and managing partner of its Beijing office. Zheng joins from Clifford Chance, where he was head of China litigation and arbitration.

Before serving at Clifford Chance, he has also worked at Herbert Smith and CIETAC (China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission) in Beijing.

Fluent in Mandarin, English, Korean and Japanese, Zheng specialises in international arbitration and China-related litigation, and has represented clients at venues including CIETAC, HKIAC, LCIA, ICC, KCAB and SIAC.

“I am pleased to welcome Patrick to the Beijing office. His practice complements the firm’s strategy and I look forward to the opportunity to develop and broaden the Beijing office and the firm’s China practice,” Lynia Lau, corporate partner and the firm’s chief representative in Beijing said in a statement.

Clyde & Co now has 18 partners and more than 150 total staff members across its Greater China network.
