Hogan Lovells has bolstered its Greater China intellectual property (IP) presence with the hire of Alan Chiu, Eugene Low and Kenny Wong from Mayer Brown JSM’s Hong Kong office.

Chiu and Low join Hogan Lovells as partners, while Wong comes on board as a consultant. All three lawyers are based in Hong Kong.

Chiu, who was a partner at Mayer Brown JSM, is an IP litigator and also advises clients on IP due diligence, licensing, domain names and computer security matters in Hong Kong and China.

Formerly a senior associate at Mayer Brown, Low focuses on contentious IP work in Greater China. He also advises clients on gaming, sports and entertainment laws, consumer protection law, technology licensing and copyright matters.

Wong, who is also the current Chairman of the Law Society of Hong Kong’s IP Committee, specialises in both contentious and commercial IP work, including entertainment law. He was the head of Mayer Brown JSM’s IP practice in Asia for more than 15 years, before becoming a senior consultant at the firm.

Hogan Lovells now has more than 40 IP lawyers across its offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.
