Global Law Office has bolstered its dispute resolution team with the addition of Jianwei (Jerry) Fang as a partner in Shanghai.

Prior to joining Global, Fang was an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell, based in Hong Kong. Before that, he worked at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in Beijing and New York for four years, where he advised on U.S. litigation with a focus on financial regulatory and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters.

At Global, Fang focuses on dispute resolution, compliance and government investigation matters, and advises on cross-border transactions.

“I decided to leave Davis Polk to join a Chinese law firm because Chinese regulators have greatly enhanced law enforcement in recent years,” Fang told ALB.

“With my prior experience as a Chinese judge and litigator at major international law firms, I will be better positioned at a Chinese law firm to help my clients with China-related disputes and regulatory matters.”
