Fenwick & West has hired Karen Yan as a partner in its corporate group in Shanghai from Latham & Watkins. 

Yan, who has more than 15 years of experience practicing corporate law, represents companies in M&A, IPOs, joint ventures, private equity transactions, corporate financings, and U.S. securities-law compliance. Among her recent deals were the U.S. IPO of e-commerce solutions provider Baozun Inc, as well as Keystone Lodging Holdings’ purchase of a stake in China-based eLong from travel-service giant Expedia.

The Shanghai office has also hired Alexandra Yin as a counsel and Liz Qin as an associate in its corporate group. Opened two years ago, it is the Silicon Valley-headquartered firm’s only office in Asia. The corporate group offers legal services for investors and companies mainly in the media, technology and life sciences industries.
