McDermott Will & Emery has added regulatory compliance specialist Michelle Y. L. Gon as a capital partner to its white collar and securities defense practice in Shanghai from Baker & McKenzie.

Gon’s practice focuses on China-related corporate, investment, distribution, regulatory and compliance concerns, particularly issues involving anti-bribery, anti-fraud, anti-unfair competition, anti-monopoly law. She previously served as chief legal officer for a New York- and Hong Kong-listed tech company based in China, as well as international counsel of an international firm.

“Michelle and the team will help MWE China to expand and further solidify its leading role in counseling international and domestic companies on their most pressing—and public—corporate crises,” said MWE China managing partner John Z.L. Huang in a statement.
