Jones Day has added energy experts Dirk Walker and Dina Yin as partners at its Beijing office from King & Wood Mallesons.

With over 20 years of legal experience, Walker focuses on international business and energy transactions, covering areas such as M&A, project finance, oil and gas and project development. Previously, he practiced law in Houston, Singapore and Moscow.

Yin specialises in international oil and gas transactions and operational issues as well as infrastructure development, specifically in emerging markets.

Walker and Yin’s hiring comes at a time when Jones Day is strengthening its energy practice in Asia. “Their experience in particular in helping Chinese companies make energy investments around the world is a perfect fit with Jones Day's global capabilities in energy, mergers and acquisitions, projects and infrastructure, finance, tax and many other practice areas,” said Jeff Schlegel, head of the firm’s energy practice, in a statement.
