Morrison & Foerster has added Chuan Sun as a partner in Hong Kong from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and Yemi Tépé as a partner in Singapore from Clifford Chance.
Sun, who joins MoFo in its Technology Transactions Group, focuses on cross-border M&A, TMT and IP/commercial matters across Greater China. He also has experience in strategic corporate-commercial transactions, including outsourcing, manufacturing, distribution, supply, and franchising arrangements. Prior to joining Freshfields, Sun worked as an attorney with Kirkland & Ellis and Bricker & Eckler.
Tépé, who joins the Financial Transactions Group, specialises in Asia cross-border acquisition and leveraged finance, public to private takeovers, debt structuring and restructuring, syndicated lending, and subscription line financing. She has experience with cross-border transactions across the Southeast Asia region, Europe, and Japan.
The hires come shortly after MoFo added Vivian Yiu as a partner in Hong Kong from Allen & Overy.
“Hiring Chuan, Vivian, and Yemi illustrates our continued investment in Asia following the recent arrivals of partners Jason Nelms in Hong Kong and Joshua Isenberg in Tokyo,” said Eric Piesner, managing partner of MoFo’s Singapore office, in a statement. “In addition to being outstanding practitioners, our new group of partners brings the deep regional experience that closely aligns with the needs of our clients.”
