China’s AnJie Law Firm has added three new partners to its Beijing office, namely IP expert James Ma, and PE/VC specialists Xie Yongtao and Echo Zhao.

Ma is experienced in different kinds of intellectual property, as well as and complicated commercial disputes in China. He has represented a number of MNCs such as Novartis, Qorvo and Panasonic, as well as domestic companies. Ma is a member of the Patent Law Committee of the Beijing Bar Association.

Xie’s practice mainly focuses on private equity, venture capital, IPOs, competition law, outbound investment and corporate matters. His experience includes stints with international and domestic law firms, and he counts Morgan Stanley, BNP, HSBC, UBS and BOC among his clients.   

Also experienced in private equity and venture capital, Zhao additionally focuses on cross-border M&A and private wealth management, and has held in-house leadership roles with multiple MNCs. Having worked on deals spanning China, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, Zhao is also experienced in technology licensing and compliance.
