Davis Polk & Wardwell and Tian Yuan Law Firm have advised CSC Financial, China's busiest IPO underwriter, on its $993 million offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with Clifford Chance and King & Wood Mallesons advising the banks.
The underwriters were China Securities, UBS, and ABCI Capital. The Clifford Chance team was led by China co-managing partner Tim Wang and partners Jean Thio and Virginia Lee.
According to Reuters, CSC Financial's IPO caps a tough year for Hong Kong listings, with deal volumes down by a fifth, and new listings falling for a second straight year.
However, the city remains poised to hold its position as the world's top IPO venue, with 64 IPOs collectively valued at $19 billion so far in 2016. That’s down from $24.2 billion from 84 deals in 2015.
