Baker McKenzie has hired Rose Zhu as M&A partner in Beijing and Hong Kong from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, where she was a partner and chief representative in China.
Zhu specialises in M&A and capital markets across a wide range of industries. At Cadwalader, Zhu led HNA Capital’s $200 million notes offering and Sinochem Offshore Capital’s $268 million Swiss-Franc bond offering, both in 2015.
"Rose's appointment comes at an important time. Chinese investors poured a record $94.2 billion of investment into Europe and North America in 2016,” said David Fleming, the firm's Asia Pacific M&A practice group head, in a statement.
Zhu is Bakers’ second partner hire in Greater China so far this year, after hiring Paul Teo in February as a dispute resolution partner in Hong Kong and the firm’s head of arbitration for Greater China.
