On Jan 25, 2017, Dadi Cinema announced an acquisition of all cinemas owned by Orange Sky Golden Harvest Entertainment (Holdings) Ltd. (“OSGH”) in the mainland China for RMB 3.387 billion. The deal was officially delivered on July 28, 2017. Jia Yuan Law Offices, Morrison & Foerster LLP and King & Wood Mallesons acted as the legal advisors for the deal. 

Jia Yuan served as the Chinese legal advisor to Dadi Cinema, with its founding partner, YAN Yu, acting as the general coordinator, and two of its partners, YI Jiansheng and ZHANG Meina, designated to lead the advisors team. Morrison & Foerster acted as the Hong Kong legal advisor to Dadi Cinema. OSGH engaged King & Wood Mallesons as its legal advisor. 

As the second largest cinema investment and management company in China, Dadi Cinema currently has 368 cinemas operating throughout the country, and its box office receipts totaled RMB 2.237 billion last year. OSGH is one of the major cinema investment and management companies in China. It had 77 cinemas in the mainland, and its box office takings totaled RMB 808 million last year.
