Morgan, Lewis & Bockius has continued its explosive expansion in Greater China, hiring Charles Mo as a litigation partner in Hong Kong from Winston & Strawn.
Earlier this year, Morgan Lewis nabbed 13 partners in Hong Kong and mainland China from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, including its head of capital markets Edwin Luk, who helped launch Morgan Lewis’ Hong Kong association firm – Luk & Partners.
Mo’s exit from Winston comes as the Chicago-headquartered firm consolidated its Greater China offices, closing its offices in Beijing and Taipei in May.
Mo focuses on dispute resolution, corporate investigations, insurance recovery, professional negligence, financial regulatory, life sciences, and employment. He advises clients in shareholder disputes, complex commercial litigation, product liability, defamation, and white-collar cases, and he represents companies in investigations conducted by Hong Kong regulators and enforcement authorities.
“I am delighted to welcome such a versatile litigator to our disputes, investigation, and enforcement team who can assist clients with a remarkably wide range of matters, including disputes and international arbitrations,” said J. Gordon Cooney Jr., who heads the firm’s litigation practice, in a statement.
