DLA Piper has appointed capital markets specialist Yang Ge as a partner in Beijing from Shearman & Sterling, where she was counsel.

Yang’s practice focuses on equity and debt securities offerings, including SEC-registered offerings and Rule 144A/Regulation S offerings. She has experience with U.S. and Hong Kong IPOs, representing both issuers and underwriters.

In November last year, she was part of the Shearman team that advised Chinese consumer-lending marketplace Hexindai on its approximately $50 million initial public offering of American Depositary Shares on the NASDAQ Global Market. She also represented BOCI Asia Limited as the initial purchaser in connection with the offering of $150 million 6.5 percent senior notes by China Huiyuan Juice Group Limited, and counselled the underwriters on the $1.5 billion guaranteed notes offering by China Three Gorges Corporation.

Yang is DLA’s second partner hire in Greater China in the past three months. In April, the firm hired Henry Cheng as a corporate partner in Hong Kong from Kirkland & Ellis.
