Beijing-headquartered Broad & Bright has hired entertainment and media expert Sunny Shen as a partner in its Shanghai office from American video game company Electronic Arts (EA), where she was senior legal counsel.

Shen’s practice areas cover legal matters in the entertainment and media industries, including content licensing, IP protection, privacy and data protection, market entry investigation, PE/VC financing and M&A. She has advised Chinese and international clients on VIE structuring, employee incentive plans, China and overseas market entry, video streaming, eSports and live broadcasting. 

Shen started her career at King & Wood Mallesons as an associate with a focus on PE/VC financing and overseas listings.  In 2009, she joined Sohu Changyou as the legal head and led multiple M&A, IP infringement litigations and crisis management cases during her stint. Shen then worked at EA, for more than seven years.
