Broad & Bright has recruited energy expert Louis Peng as a partner in Beijing from CMS Cameron McKenna, where he was the local head of the international energy group.

Peng specializes in energy, infrastructure, project development and cross-border M&A, including advising clients on FDI, international trade, shipping and insurance.

Peng was the head of the international practice at the Beijing office of Sunshine Law Firm from 2012 to 2015 before he moved to CMS. His work has included helping Sichuan Hongda Co. Ltd. bid for the development of a 600MW gas fired power plant in Tanzania with a total investment value exceeding 3 billion yuan ($433 million), and a listed SOE energy company in China in its 700 million euro ($786 million) bid to acquire a power company in Europe.

Peng’s arrival takes Broad & Bright’s energy team to four partners in its Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou offices.
