金杜律师事务所硅谷办公室近日迎来公司业务合伙人Thomas M. Shoesmith加盟。加盟金杜前，Shoesmith曾任美国普盈律师事务所合伙人，主导其在中国的业务拓展，使得其上海办公室规模扩大，并设立了其北京办公室。他曾在上海执业多年，加入金杜后将主要在硅谷执业。

根据金杜的一份新闻稿，Shoesmith的执业领域为国际并购、合资项目、新兴及快速增长型公司、融资和商业交易等。他尤其熟悉美国外国投资委员会（CFIUS）事务，在当前美国政府环境下为众多美国及亚洲企业的跨境投资战略提供了咨询方案。

金杜美国办公室管理合伙人王军表示：“在我们努力协助客户应对日益复杂的市场之际，Tom在跨境企业交易方面的长期经验及在CFIUS方面的专业知识，将进一步增强我们的国际服务能力，也将进一步夯实金杜的国际领先律所地位。”

Former Pillsbury China head joins KWM in Silicon Valley

King & Wood Mallesons has hired corporate partner Thomas M. Shoesmith in its Silicon Valley office. Shoesmith joined from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, where previously headed the firm’s China Practice in both Shanghai and Beijing.

Shoesmith specializes in M&A, joint ventures, emerging growth, corporate finance and commercial transactions. He also has expertise in US foreign investment (CFIUS) matters, advising companies on their strategic approach to cross-border investments under the current U.S. Administration.

“As we look to assist our clients in navigating an increasingly complex market, Tom’s long history of cross-border corporate transactions, in addition to his CFIUS expertise, will further strengthen our international offering and standing as a top tier international firm.” KWM partner Jack Wang said in a statement.
