毅柏律师事务所近日迎来诉讼和破产专家 Ben McCosker律师以合伙人身份加盟其上海办事处。此前，McCosker曾在孖士打律师行担任顾问。

McCosker拥有超过16年的执业经验，擅长处理股东纠纷以及涉及离岸注册、香港上市实体的重组交易。在 2022 年加入孖士打之前，McCosker 曾在离岸律所 Campbells 和汇嘉律师事务所担任法律顾问。在此之前，他也曾在祁卓信苏期殷律师行和诺顿罗氏律师事务所工作。

毅柏香港及上海办事处管理合伙人布泰玮律师表示：“这项战略性任命极大地增强了我们在该地区的企业和争议解决能力，强化了我们为客户提供卓越服务的承诺，并推动了我们在亚洲主要市场（尤其是上海）的战略增长。”

McCosker也是毅柏继去年8月引入合伙人姚华律师之后，该所在上海的第二位合伙人。与此同时，毅柏还任命 Mandy Qi 为其上海办事处的律师，Stephanie Wang 为其该办公室的法律经理。

Appleby doubles Shanghai partner count with Mayer Brown hire

Offshore law firm Appleby is adding a second partner to its office in Shanghai after hiring litigation and insolvency expert Ben McCosker, who was a counsel in Mayer Brown’s Hong Kong office.

McCosker becomes Appleby’s second partner in Shanghai after Hannah Yao, who joined the firm in August last year.
With over 16 years of experience, McCosker specialises in shareholder disputes, as well as handling restructuring deals involving offshore-incorporated, Hong Kong-listed entities.

Before joining Mayer Brown in 2022, McCosker was a counsel at offshore firms Campbells and Walkers. He earlier worked for Karas So and Norton Rose Fulbright.

Appleby has also appointed Mandy Qi as an associate and Stephanie Wang as a legal manager in its Shanghai office.
