King & Wood Mallesons has hired Rachel Yu as a partner in Hong Kong from Herbert Smith Freehills, where she was a senior associate.

Yu, who spent more than five years at HSF, primarily advises on financial disputes, as well as regulatory investigations by authorities such as the Securities and Futures Commission, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

Her clients include PRC and global investment banks, retail banks, private equity funds, asset managers, brokerages, Chinese listed companies and high net worth individuals.

Yu started her career with Boase Cohen & Collins before jumping to Deacons for a nearly six-year stint. She moved to Herbert Smith Freehills in September 2013.
