Rouse has strengthened its patent team with the hire of Erick Robinson as the firm’s Asia Pacific Chief Patent Counsel.

Robinson, who will be based in China, was previously the Director of Patents at mobile technology maker Qualcomm.

During his stint at Qualcomm, he oversaw a wide range of IP matters in India and other parts of Asia, including drafting, regulatory, policy, prosecution and litigation and antitrust issues. Recently, his work has covered managing privacy issues, advising business leaders across Asia, and negotiating technology- and software-related deals.

"Erick is a major player in patents and will add significant experience and insight to our Asia Pacific team,” said Linda Chang, Rouse’s China country manager, in a statement.

“Erick's experiences at Qualcomm, combined with his extensive private practice experience in the U.S., makes him a valuable new addition to the Rouse patents team.”
