Job Description

A Global cross border E – commerce Legal Department is looking for a talented lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel to support its fast expanding marketplace businesses around the globe. 
This position, based in Shanghai, will negotiate strategic commercial agreements, assist the business with product/service development initiatives, and interact with regulatory authorities on licensing and other compliance related issues. The candidate will be involved in and contribute to business buildup, have primary transactional drafting and negotiation responsibilities on deals, and provide ongoing legal counselling and contract interpretation for senior executives and other business team members, independently with minimal supervisions. 
The candidate also will be expected to participate in other legal projects as directed, including the administration and resolution of legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and government inquiries. A strong background in technology and the ecommerce industry is a plus. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, be curious about business, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Competitive compensation based on experience and includes equity compensation.

Basic Qualifications 
•    Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading Chinese or US law school. Licensed to practice law in China. 
•   A minimum of 6+ years of legal experience (with several years of experience at a leading global law firm and/or in-house at a major multinational corporation). 
•  The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. 

Prefer
•    Prior experience in product compliance or IP infringement enforcement is a plus
