A fantastic new opportunity for a talented lawyer to work in the Seoul office of this biglaw practice within a close knit and collegiate team on corporate matters and PE transactions. 

This team advises global and Asia-Pacific-based private equity sponsors, financial investors and their portfolio companies, as well as select private and public companies, on complex, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, including leveraged buy-outs, bolt-on and carve-out acquisitions, joint ventures, structured investments, take-private deals and other public company transactions in Asia-Pacific and worldwide.

As an associate in this practice, you will be working in an exciting working environment, handling challenging, time-sensitive deals that demand a dynamic approach and a resilience of character. From the moment you join, you can expect to be working with – and learning from – partners within the team, as well as with colleagues in groups across the firm.

This is a newly created role given a lateral partner move.  The client can offer high-quality, internationally-oriented work on the most challenging corporate and PE work, along with a competitive salary package and an opportunity to develop your skills as a lawyer working on precedent-setting matters alongside notable leaders in these practice areas.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions and advising Private Equity funds

  • Real commitment to working in Asia and Korea

  • Driven by professional growth

  • Proactive, resourceful, takes initiative 
  • Fluency in English
  • Korean language skills is a bonus but not essential as most transaction documents and meetings conducted in English
  • US JD is preferred at a top-tier law school
