Rimon Law, an “alternative” law firm that operates on a decentralized, distributed model, has set up its first presence in China in the southern city of Shenzhen.
This is the firm’s third overseas office and its 20th office overall. The other two overseas offices are in Israel (Tel Aviv) and Italy (Rome).
Rimon expects the new office to build on its existing experience in representing Chinese enterprises in cross-border IP transactions, business investment deals, and dispute resolutions, and also U.S. companies on M&A, foreign direct investment, technology transfer, IP protection, and contract negotiation. Some of the firm’s Chinese clients include Xiaomi, Alibaba and Singlera.
“Our firm includes numerous lawyers who have lived in China, worked with Chinese businesses, government agencies and local law firms and even had the experience of opening up branch offices in China for multi-national law firms. Opening the Shenzhen office was a step that will benefit our clients,” said Michael Moradzadeh, CEO of Rimon.
Prior to opening the new office, Rimon welcomed litigation and intellectual property lawyer Peng Chen as a partner from Morrison & Foerster. Chen will split his time between the Shenzhen and San Diego offices. The firm claims it has a total of 16 attorneys with expertise in China.
Rimon’s announcement comes weeks after Fish & Richardson, one of the most prominent IP law firms in the U.S., said it would open a representative office in Shenzhen. A year prior to that, fellow U.S. law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione launched there.

深圳办公室设立前不久，锐蒙迎来了诉讼和知识产权专家陈朋律师，陈朋律师之前在美富律师事务所执业。加入锐蒙后，陈朋律师在深圳和圣地亚哥两地办公。据锐蒙官网显示，该所目前精通处理跟中国相关业务的律师共计16位。
锐蒙宣布设立深圳办公室前不久，美国另一家知识产权律师事务所斐悦律师事务所的深圳代表处宣布设立。2017年，美国布林克斯律师事务所在深圳设立了代表处。
