The Hong Kong office of PRC law firm Jingtian & Gongcheng is merging with Hong Kong boutique L&C Legal, the firm with which it has been in an association since September 2018.

The merger solidifies the existing relationship between the two firms, which commenced after Jingtian ended its previous alliance with Mayer Brown last year. L&C Legal is led by Elaine Lo, a former senior partner with Mayer Brown who spent nearly four decades at that firm. 

Following the merger, Jingtian & Gongcheng will be one of the few Chinese firms in Hong Kong that can provide Hong Kong law advice.“This merger represents a significant milestone for the firm. We have a firmly-established reputation and proven track record in China and one of our strategic imperatives involves enhancing our competitive advantage in overseas capital markets. The merger is crucial to our success,” said Zhao Yang, chairman of Jingtian & Gongcheng.

Lo and other L&C partners, namely Nicholas Chan, Li Fai, Stephen Luo, Stella Yeung, and Alfred Li, will become partners of Jingtian after the merger.

竞天公诚香港分所与L&C Legal  LLP合并

北京市竞天公诚香港分所将与其香港联营律师事务所L&C Legal LLP（罗陈律师事务所有限法律责任合伙）合并。两家所自2018年9月正式建立联营关系。

此次合并将进一步巩固双方的合作关系，起始于竞天公诚香港分所与孖士打律师行在2015年8月签署的三年联营协议于2018年9月底终止。L&C由合伙人罗婉文律师设立及主导，罗婉文律师在中国相关业务具备丰厚执业经验，曾在孖士打律师行执业近四十年。

完成合并后，竞天公诚将跻身为在香港拥有执业资格的中国律师事务所之一。“这次合并对竞天公诚总体发展来说是一个重要的里程碑。竞天公诚在中国拥有稳固的声誉和良好的业绩记录，未来的战略发展需求之一，即是巩固和进一步提升竞天公诚在海外资本市场的竞争优势。此次事务所的正式合并对我们是至关重要的一步，” 竞天公诚管理委员会主席赵洋律师表示。

罗婉文律师和L&C其他五位合伙人：陈应广、李辉、骆嘉昀、杨明皓和李浩民将在合并后作为合伙人正式加入竞天公诚。
