中建、中汇两所近日完成合并，组成上海中建中汇律师事务所。新律所由执行合伙人朱平律师带领，目前共有105位执业律师其中包括33位合伙人。这是今年以来上海法律行业内发生的又一起合并案例。

The merger trend seen among Shanghai firms is clearly gathering pace, as Zhonghui and Zhongjian have recently joined forces to form a new firm under the name of Zhongjian Zhonghui (Joinway).

Led by managing director Zhu Ping, the new firm currently has a total of 105 lawyers including 33 partners. With its head office in Shanghai, Joinway has branches in Beijing, Nanjing and Wuhan.  

Both firms have established strong reputations in the construction and real estate sector. The combination enables the new firm to extend their services and advice into a wider range of practice areas, including M&A, banking & finance, listings and IPOs, insurance, and trust and funds.

Apart from this merger, the establishment of SG & Co PRC Lawyers through a merger of four local firms is another example of the merger trend picking up pace. Several other attempts at law firm mergers are also reportedly ongoing in Shanghai. ALB
