Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison has strengthened its practice capabilities in China with the addition of Gary Li to the firm’s China Practice management team, with effect from 25 Mar 2011.
Li, a corporate partner based in the firm’s Hong Kong office, specialises on a wide range of China-related transactions including private equity matters, public M&A transactions, Hong Kong and US capital markets, and debt financing. Li initially studied at Beijing University School of Law, graduating in 1997. Following that, he received his J.D. degree from UCLA School of Law in 2011.
He joined the New York office of Paul Weiss in September 2001 and transferred to the Hong Kong office in July 2007. He admitted to practice law in New York and is a registered foreign lawyer in Hong Kong.
Li’s appointment is in line with the firm's growth strategy - growing its team of Western-trained, Chinese speaking attorneys with expertise in Chinese law and international business transactions.
The firm has offices in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing, New York, London, Washington and Wilmington.ALB
