Shanghai-based law offices Young-Ben Law Firm and Z&H Law Firm recently joined forces to create a single firm, which will be operated under the name of Young-Ben. The newly combined firm features eight partners and 23 lawyers.
 
Sun Wei, partner of Young-Ben, said the merger only took two months to complete. “There are synergies between the two firms,” he said. “We were looking to strengthen and extend the firm’s practices, in areas such as real estate and dispute, of which Z&H excels in,” he added, noting that Z&H was looking for a bigger platform that shared a similar culture that Young-Ben could provide.

Wang Wei will retain the title as the director of the new firm; while Zhang Yan, the managing partner of former Z&H, will be the executive director of the new Young-Ben. As the firm-wide integration is underway, many of Z&H staff have moved to Young-Ben’s office. 

上海原本律所与上海泽衡律所近日完成合并，组成新的律所。新律所仍将使用原本律所的名称。新原本目前拥有8名合伙人，23名律师。

据原本合伙人孙伟介绍，前泽衡的张艳律师团队在房地产和建筑工程方面经验丰富，而另一前泽衡许智渊团队的主要执业领域集中在公司并购和争议解决领域。合并后的新原本除了在传统领域，如公司并购、资本市场、外商投资及知识产权等方面得到提高外，在房地产和大型制造业领域方面也得到了进一步的加强。

合并后，原本合伙人汪巍继续担任新原本的主任，而张艳，原泽衡主任合伙人，则担任新原本的执行合伙人。

据了解，此次合并从谈判到最后的合并完成只用了大约2个月的时间。 ALB
