Loeb & Loeb has opened an office in Hong Kong, its second in Asia after the launch of its Beijing post in 2009. The Law Society of Hong Kong has approved Loeb & Loeb’s association with local Hong Kong firm Pang & Co, along with the firm’s registration as a foreign law firm.

Launching the new Hong Kong office will be the managing partner of Pang & Co, corporate finance and securities specialist Benny Pang, and Beijing Loeb & Loeb partner Lawrence Venick, who is relocating to Hong Kong.  Pang will join the firm’s capital markets group.

Commenting on the Hong Kong office opening, Loeb & Loeb chairman Michael Beck said in a statement: “As one of the world's leading international financial centres, Hong Kong has been a key part of our strategic growth plan in Asia for some time. The Hong Kong office and the association with Pang & Co will offer our clients access to an important business market that is a major player in the global economy.”

The Pang & Co team includes 16 Hong Kong solicitors and U.S. attorneys, and paralegals. It will work in association with Loeb & Loeb’s Hong Kong office, as well as the firm’s Beijing and U.S. offices. The core practice areas will be general corporate and commercial, capital markets and regulatory for Greater China.
