King & Wood Mallesons has received 25 nominations for the ALB 2013 China Law Awards, with Clifford Chance leading the international pack with 18, as Chinese firms secured five berths of the nine most nominated firms.
International firms, meanwhile, maintained a considerable edge in the deal categories, according to the shortlist announced on Monday. Davis Polk Wardwell and Linklaters recorded 15 and 14 nods respectively. Sullivan & Cromwell and domestic contender Zhong Lun each received 12.
Other domestic firms also making a strong appearance, particularly in the law firm categories, include Fangda Partners and Guantao, with 11 and 10 nominations respectively.
The winners of the awards, to be decided by an independent panel of judges, will be announced at a gala event at Beijing’s Park Hyatt Hotel on Mar. 28.
Now in its 10th year, the ALB China Law Awards has revamped its processes and parametres to better reflect the outstanding achievements of the leading law firms and in-house legal teams, as well as China’s top deals and deal makers of 2012.
