Magic Circle firm Linklaters has opened an office in Seoul after receiving approval from the Korean Ministry of Justice earlier this month.
Capital markets expert Hyung Ahn will head the new office, supported by banking and projects partner Stephen Le Vesconte, corporate and M&A counsel Kyungseok Kim, senior consultant Hyo Young Kang, and a team of associates.
Linklaters’ recent Korean deals highlights include advising Affinity Equity Partners, Baring Private Equity, IMM Private Equity and the Government of Singapore Investment Corp on their 1.2 trillion won ($1.13 billion) acquisition of a 24 percent equity stake in Kyobo Life Insurance, and representing South Korean fashion and retail company E.Land World on its $170 million acquisition of K-Swiss.
